EARTH DAY EVENT EDUCATES AND MOBILIZES MONTREALERS IN FIGHT AGAINST FOSSIL FUELS

MONTREAL, QUEBEC: This Earth Day, April 22nd, hundreds of Montrealers will convene at Concordia University for “Climate Justice Skills Day”: a day of skill-building and peaceful protest in the ongoing fight for a world without fossil fuels (see Facebook event here).

Climate Justice Montreal, in partnership with other community groups, will be holding workshops on topics ranging from communicating climate science to building solidarity with the Algonquins of Barriere Lake. The event also features a talk from water expert Guy Coderre on the risks posed to Montreal’s water supply in the event of a pipeline spill.

Participants will take action by joining the Montreal March for Science from noon to 2:00 PM, which culminates in a rally against fossil fuels at Place du Canada.
