Supporters of defrauded Guatemalan migrant workers
demand the removal of their deportation orders.
A rally outside the Montreal office of the Federal Court of Appeals on 30 McGill Street is organized for 8:30 am on Wednesday, October 18. The rally will be held just before the immigration appeals hearing for a group of Guatemalan migrant workers featured in the news almost a year ago when they were arrested and detained by CBSA after being defrauded of thousands of dollars by a Victoriaville based recruitment agency. Supporters are demanding that the federal government end the continuing victimization of the migrant workers by lifting their deportation orders. Supporters insist the group of Guatemalan workers be able to stay to continue to pursue their claims against the predatory agency.
