Saturday, May 5, 5pm-6pm
Rendez-vous: métro Parc (corner of Hutchison and Jean-Talon)
We will march to 7080 Hutchison, residence of a Nazi living in the neighborhood

This past May 1st, a racist living in Park Extension displayed a Nazi flag from a roof top, visible to people on Jean-Talon Street participating in a demonstration.

We denounce this act of hatred. Importantly, we also demand that the identity of this unapologetic fascist is revealed, so that neighborhood residents can protect themselves from this hatred. The identity of the Nazi is known to the board of the condominium where he lives, but they refuse to reveal it.

Community safety and protection is something we build together, with solidarity and with a commitment to fighting racism in all its forms.

There is absolutely no place in Park Extension – a working class immigrant neighbourhood – or anywhere for fascist symbols or ideas. Park Extension has been welcoming poor and working-class immigrants for over one hundred years, often fleeing fascist regimes around the world. As a neighbourhood, we cannot allow the noxious weeds of hatred and violence to take root here.

Join together for a demonstration to denounce fascism, and also to demand that the Board of the condo at 7080 Hutchison provide the name of the Nazi living in their building and using the building to promote hatred.

This is a festive, family-friendly and determined demonstration in opposition to racism and fascism. Bring noise-makers, and signs denouncing racism and hate.
